CT scans or CAT scans combine is a type of imaging diagnostic equipment used in medical procedure. A CT (computed tomography) or CAT (computerized axial tomography) combines data from several x-rays to produce a detailed 3D cross sectional imaging of the internal organs of the body. It differs vastly from the X-ray machine where only one radiation beam is sent. A CT scan emits several narrow beams of radiation to get a detailed final picture of the body. It captures the images so minutely that one can see the tissues within the organs.
